Wurde pünktlich geliefert und war sicher in Schrumpffolie verpackt ... Diese 50-jährige Jubiläumsausgabe hat einen Goldrand, illustrierte Endseiten und eines dieser Band-Lesezeichen, die in den Buchrücken eingenäht sind. Sehr zufrieden mit meinem Kauf und genau das, was ich wollte!

I am half way through this book and I am having a great time. The story is, of course, great. The quality of the book is also very good. The book contains a glossary of terms and a map on the back, which is great help while reading. I only wish it had an index, or some way to find the page that each chapter starts in.

We read the novel in our English class. The story is set in the far future. The main character is Paul Atreides, the son of Duke Leto who is the leader of the House Atreides. The great enemy of House Atreides is House Harkonnen. Their mean leader is baron Vladimir Harkonnen. The emperor of the known Universe decides that the Atreides are now in charge of the desert planet Dune, thus replacing the House Harkonnen. Über die Geschichte muss ich wohl nichts schreiben, ist klar ein Meisterwerk. Das Buch selber ist wunderbar und fühlt sich einfach nur gut in den Händen an. Super verarbeitet und toll aussehen tut es dabei auch noch, egal ob mit oder oder dem Cover.

I generally don't read fiction so often and mostly need a kind of hype around the world building to dive into them. Dune recently has been in a lot of attention, in regard to how much influence it has had on other sci-fi, and how oil geo politics can be seen imitated here. This was enough for me to start atleast with the first book. I was conflicted with either buying the penguin galaxy edition or this one, I chose this because in my opinion the cover art and the two additional art works on the

TL;DR: Get the book in a store where it is not yet damaged through delivery and where you can pick one that has no manufacturing defects. Die Geschichte ist Toll und ich habe diese bereits einige male gelesen in meinem Lebe, allerdings auf deutsch. Ich bin zwar kein Englisch Professor würde aber trotzdem behaupten die Sprache sehr gut zu beherrschen. Allerdings konnte ich dieses Buch nicht durchlesen aufgrund des komplexen alten Englisch. Das Buch ist toll, super Cover und Gefühl in der Hand von der Gedchichte ganz zu schweigen, man sollte aber wissen worauf man sich einlässt.

I cannot recommend this book enough. Herbert wrote a masterpiece. This edition however is too thick, and narrow, making the reading experience a bit challenging.
